Bring IronRuby Tools to Visual Studio 2012

description

[Feature Request]

It appears that IronRuby Tools for Visual Studio only supports Visual Studio 2010.

I just installed IronRuby 1.1.3 (which says it comes with tools for Visual Studio 2010), and it appears that Visual Studio 2012 is not supported:
  • No IronRuby project types appear in the "New Project" dialog
  • Syntax highlighting does not appear to work for .rb (ruby) files

Come on guys, VS 2012 is now the standard choice for IDE. Please support it.

This would be very useful, following the example of Python Tools for Visual Studio which is now supported in VS2012 (and no doubt VS2013). This would mean I could avoid running VS2010 and VS2012 on the same machine.

Indeed, VS2013 is already almost released, but there is no even VS2012 support! (

what do you need to get this effort started?

No updates in 3 years. Is this project officially dead?

Guys: Let's bring IronRuby to Visual Studio 2012 and 2013. I would love to see templates such as those used with IronPython.
